Shark Tank was first aired in the month of August, 2009. It was jointly produced by Mark Burnett and Sony. It had been conceived based upon the format of Dragon’s Den, a similar reality show that was produced and presented by Sony Pictures Television International in Canada prior to Shark Tank premiering on ABC. Presently Shark Tank is heading for its fourth season. This is also the first time that the show has already received an order for the complete season. During the 3rd season of Shark Tank, the show was to be called off at the 13th episode but 2 more episodes were crafted out of unaired footage, perhaps owing to the popularity and the demand.
Over the years Shark Tank has had several notable people in the panels and there have been a few changes as well. The season 3 of Shark Tank saw Kevin Harrington being replaced by Mark Cuban and Barbara Corcoran was filled in by Lori Greiner. The upcoming fourth season of Shark Tank may again see some changes in the panel and also behind the scenes among the crew members.
Recently at Friday Nights, ABC emerged as the clear winner with Shark Tank being hailed as the No 1 TV Show for the primetime category catering to the adult 18 - 49 years age group.
With Shark Tank set for another season, the hunt for entrepreneurs is about to start. This makes way for people who missed out on the first three seasons and also youngsters who think they have a unique and workable idea. Having a platform to pitch your business plan to a panel of experts and potential investors on national television can be a life altering experience. We had seen the success of the other ABC series, American Inventor. The fourth season of Shark Tank also becomes even more promising since the recently acquired success has fostered its acceptability and has clearly spoken of the verdict of the adult audience.
